D The Drew Archive One house, many rooms

I'm Drew.

I work with my hands and my head. I read old books and build new things. I think about money, technology, faith, and the responsibilities that come with having children.

Why this exists
#

Most platforms want me to pick one lane — DIY creator, or tech writer, or finance commentator, or homeschool dad. But a life doesn’t come in lanes.

This archive is built on the conviction that ideas and projects are more honest when they’re kept in their proper rooms but allowed to speak to each other. The Workshop is not the Library. Faith is not the Terminal. But they all belong to the same person, and they all shape the same life.

A few convictions that show up repeatedly here:

The past is the focus, the present is the periphery The earlier generations were often wiser. The Church Fathers, being closer to Christ in time, carry more weight than modern voices.
We step backwards into the future This is not progress as the modern world defines it. It is walking carefully, guided by what came before.
Objective truth exists Morals, ideas, and lessons from church history are not merely subjective preferences.
Self-reliance matters Building, fixing, and maintaining your own systems — digital, financial, physical — is a form of freedom.
Multigenerational thinking Physical books, durable systems, and recorded lessons are for children and grandchildren who will come after.

What to expect
#

  • Essays and videos published irregularly but with intention
  • Projects documented without pretending the mess never happened
  • Technical posts that assume competence but explain the why, not just the how
  • Writing about faith that is personal, not preachy
  • Financial and macro commentary that is skeptical of institutions and mainstream narratives
  • No corporate tone, no content mill output, no optimization for engagement
This is a life, recorded.
